This article is sensationalism fodder.

1) Chuck Liddell isn't "too busy" to fight, he lost several consecutive fights via devastating knockouts and Dana White prefers to see him safe and healthy than squeeze more PPV money from him and risk serious permanent injuries.

2) UFC was never under threat from Strikeforce. Strikeforce has about 1/10th of the fighters on their payroll as UFC does and only a handful of which are consensus contenders should they ever fight in the UFC (Shields, Overeem, and non-consensus guys like Brett Rogers and Cung Le, if he ever fights again.)

3) The UFC likes the PPV revenue Lesnar brings in I'll admit that but they have no shortage of other stars that are almost as big a draw. GSP, Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machita, BJ Penn just to name a few. Each one of those guys brings almost as much revenue as Lesnar does. Yes perhaps not the mainstream media hype but that is a slow building effort that Lesnar brought a catalyst to. Many long time fight fans would be more than happy to trade in the hype for a break from Lesnar's antics.
